The natural, climatic and socio-economic conditions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF) are considered. Factors of anthropogenic negative impact on the components of the natural environment are noted. It has been established that unauthorized municipal solid waste (MSW) dumps located in the Russian Arctic have a significant impact on the ecosystem.
