PA 10.10 and PA 6 composites with glass or basalt fibre: mechanical properties in dry and wet state

The effect of basalt and glass fibres and moisture on the impact strength, tensile mechanical properties and heat resistance of PA 10.10 and PA 6 was examined. It was shown that PA 10.10 composites can compete with PA 6 composites in terms of mechanical properties, in a humid environment. Their heat resistance was lower than that of PA 6 composites. Regardless of the type of polyamide, composites with glass fibre had better properties than those with basalt fibre.
