Over the past decade, numerous articles have been published on Visible Light Communication (VLC) which indicates that VLC is a advanced form of wireless communication expected to be applied in 6G networks. Based on the recent surveys of indoor VLC technology, there are several challenges to address promptly to enhance the energy efficiency of the current VLC systems to enable their widespread adoption. Thus in our research, we focused on achieving an energy-efficient VLC system by introducing a non-linear companding technique to one of the most commonly employed optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OOFDM) techniques in VLC that named asymmetrically and symmetrically clipping optical OFDM (ASCO-OFDM) because it has high data rate transmission with good system bit error rate performance. Unfortunately, ASCO-OFDM has a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). So, ASCO-OFDM with low PAPR performance is crucial for practical and energy-efficient VLC broadcasting systems.
