In wireless and satellite applications, the transmit (Tx) and the Receive (Rx) systems always working in different frequency range for enhancing the isolation between the Tx and Rx channels. In this paper, several highly-integrated self-duplexing antennas based on filtering antenna techniques are presented to generate the two isolated channels/ports with a single radiator. Such a co-design approach can not only simplify RF frontend system by getting rid of duplexers but also significantly improving the efficiency. First, the mechanism of a linearly-polarized self-duplexing antenna is introduced, which is followed by our recent research outcomes, including a dual-polarized self-duplexing antenna and a circularly-polarized self-duplexing antennas. Good performance in terms of impedance bandwidths, inter-channel isolation and radiation is achieved. The proposed self-duplexing antenna could be a good candidate for a wide range wireless and satellite applications.
