This paper explores the application of "close" remote sensing technology for cost-effective and efficient monitoring of agricultural land. While traditional satellite monitoring has been transformative for large-scale observations,It faces limitations, especially when dealing with smaller-scale lands and capturing small target details. The solution lies in using drones equipped with multispectral cameras, offering precise and cost-efficient monitoring for smaller agricultural areas. The paper covers some general principles of optical remote sensing technology and techniques relevant to our application. We then assess the potential of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in agricultural applications, and subsequently, we developed an innovative aerial monitoring system for surveying vegetated areas. The integration of remote sensing and drone solutions emerges as a potential approach for revolutionizing cost-effective agricultural monitoring.
