Stimulated Brillouin scattering has been exploited in silicon photonics to demonstrate several key functionalities. We harness subwavelength nanostructuration to tailor near-infrared photons and GHz phonons, achieving a strong overlap that results in a high Brillouin gain of 1.91×10 5 W -1 m -1 for a 4.68 GHz mechanical mode.
