A microwave and millimeter-wave dual-band antenna based on microstrip transmission line is designed in this paper. Dual-band operation can be achieved by bisecting conventional microstrip lines and introducing short segments on one side to make the two sides different in length, which results in different phase shifts at high and low frequencies In the millimeter-wave band, the short segment can cause the current to produce a phase difference of nearly 180 degrees, but in the microwave band, there is almost no phase difference. On this basis, the monopole antenna working at 2.45GHz and the dual-frequency antenna working at 30GHz-50GHz are realized by using the same aperture.
