This paper presents a wideband adaptive cross approximation with the characteristic basis function method (Wideband ACA-CBFM) for efficiently solving wideband radar cross-section (RCS). In this approach, the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) decomposition information and the characteristic basis functions (CBFs) at the highest frequency of the given band, are reused at other frequencies in the band. Moreover, the ACA decomposition matrices are calculated using the impedance interpolation method. Therefore, the method we propose effectively reduces the total CPU time for calculating the wideband RCS.
