A novel approach for identifying strong scattering sources and achieving comprehensive helicopter stealth is presented. The methodology involves employing ray tracing and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imaging to pinpoint the locations of strong scattering sources. Subsequently, the identified strong scattering sources on the rotor blades and fuselage are treated using two distinct absorbing materials: electromagnetic metamaterial and magnetic absorbing material FGM-125. The application of equivalent medium theory and a direct coating approach facilitates the integration of these absorbing materials on the specific regions of the helicopter. Simulation results validate the efficacy of the proposed method, demonstrating accurate localization of strong scattering sources on the helicopter. Moreover, the implementation of the electromagnetic metamaterial and FGM-125 yields a notable reduction in the monostatic Radar Cross Section (RCS) of the helicopter, particularly within a defined angular domain. This signifies a substantial advancement in achieving broadband stealth for helicopters through targeted mitigation of key scattering sources using tailored absorbing materials.
