In this paper, a compact aperture-shared dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed, which has two microstrip patch antennas (MPA) operating in different bands, loaded with U-slot to widen the impedance bandwidth. The DRA consists of a rectangular dielectric rectangular ceramic, where there exists a square part below for support and a pair of strip metal foil, added to the bottom of the rectangular dielectric to act as feeding part, just like a dipole. Then, a pair of MPAs is integrated above the ground of DRA, just below the rectangular part of DRA. The DRA occupies 3.28-4.11 GHz, about 28.2% at the center frequency, while the MPA working at 4.62-4.85 GHz and 5.08-5.40 GHz, respectively.
