Vivaldi antennas are widely used in wideband phased array systems. It is necessary to increase element spacing to save TR channels. However, scan blindness occurs when element spacing reaches the Nyquist limit. The metallic ground along the H plane forms parallel plate waveguide, the scan blindness is caused by the excited TM high-order modes. To address this issue, a metallic cubic block is used in Vivaldi antenna array to suppress the TM high-order modes to eliminate the scan blindness in this paper. The Vivaldi antenna array operates over 10-30GHz with 45° scanning in the E-plane and 30° scanning in the H- plane, subject to active VSWR<2. The unit cell has a size of 5.8mm×5.8mm×10mm.
