A Taichi-Bagua-based compact antenna is presented in this letter. It proposes as the on-body receiver antenna with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) low band of 3.1 GHz - 4.8 GHz, aimed at enhancing wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. The antenna is placed on the flexible, high dielectric constant Rogers RO3210 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">(εᵣ=10.2)</tex> , which occupies the dimension of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">22 × 30×</tex> 1.27 mm 3 . The simulated reflection coefficient curves show an operating frequency band with 2.81 GHz - 4.80 GHz (1.99 GHz, 52%). The experimental results demonstrate a strong correlation with the simulated ones. The antenna is also measured on a human abdomen, illustrating that the specific absorption rate (SAR) conforms to IEEE safety standards.
