The review highlights the general results of the field ethnolinguistic expedition in the city of Gevgelija and in the village of Uma (North Macedonia) in 2023. These are the only settlements on the territory of North Macedonia where the last speakers of the Megleno-Romanian language can be found. Close intensive contacts of the Romanian population with the Slavs led to the cultural and linguistic assimilation. However, during the carried survey, we found several people who spoke this Balkan-Romanian idiom to some extent. This made it possible to collect the necessary material on the main expedition task on funeral and memorial rituals, mythological ideas and terminology of this fragment of folk tradition.
