Language is a fundamental tool that enables communities to communicate. Learning a language requires more than just acquiring words and grammar; it involves understanding the complex structure of language, its cultural context, and the visual and auditory expressions filled with symbols, making language acquisition a profound experience. Therefore, comprehending the relationship between language learning and the semiotic aspect of language can enrich language learning processes. In particular, it is essential to recognize that texts belonging to a language are not merely structures of sentences; they also include the cultural dimension conveyed by the text, in addition to the structure and the information they contain. This dimension should be considered as a crucial aspect when creating texts for teaching Turkish to foreigners. In this article, Russian cultural semiologist Yuri Lotman's concept of "Semiosphere" is discussed and the role of this concept on teaching Turkish to foreigners is examined. Lotman's semiotic approach offers a new perspective in the field of language learning and emphasizes that language contains deep meanings beyond just words.
