This article discusses methods for assessing the risks of investment projects, taking into account the characteristics of the oil industry. The main attention is paid to the systematization of three groups of methods for assessing project risks, including a group of risk adjustment methods, a group of analytical assessment methods and a group of examination methods (expert assessments). The essence and substantive aspects of the methods for assessing project risks that make up these groups are revealed, their advantages and disadvantages are revealed. The author's recommendations are proposed for the preferential use of assessment methods depending on the type of risks of investment projects in the oil industry.
