Due to the growing demand of a large number of users for large amounts of data transmission, the LTE/5G communication system will require its antenna to have an omnidirectional radiation mode and a wide frequency bandwidth. In this study, a novel omnidirectional horizontally polarized antenna for the LTE/5G communication system is proposed. The antenna consists of three pairs of arc dipoles, six pairs of parasitic strip lines, and several cross-type elliptic patches, aiming at the extension of the antenna's bandwidth. To achieve the antenna configured miniaturization, a design method that integrates the feed network with the antenna is adopted. The simulated result exhibits a −10-dB frequency bandwidth of 1.72-3.75 GHz (74.2%). It also achieves a satisfactory horizontal omnidirectional pattern in the horizontal mode, with a peak gain of 5.21 dBi. Furthermore, the proposed antenna has a small size of 120 × 120 × 0.8128 ~mm³, with a low profile of 0.688 λₘᵢₙ (where λₘᵢₙ is the free space wavelength at the minimum working frequency).
