In multiphase reactions, the monolithic catalyst can effectively reduce the pressure drop and improve catalyst utilization efficiency. The additive manufacturing technology has given us the ability to prepare innovative three-dimensional structural monolithic catalysts. However, there is currently a lack of an approach to guide the macroscopic structure design of monolithic catalysts. In this article, the relationship between structural parameters of monolithic catalysts and catalytic reactions was established with the aim of eliminating internal diffusion. According to the method, the macroscopic structure of the carbon-based monolithic catalyst used in the hydrogenation experiment of nitrobenzene was designed, and corresponding monolithic catalysts were prepared. It can achieve matching between the macroscopic structure of the monolithic catalyst and the corresponding reaction. Compared with particle catalysts that eliminate internal diffusion, the designed catalysts of the same mass can achieve comparable catalytic effects.
