The randomness from load disturbances and uncertainties leaves a threat to the power sharing performance and the islanded microgrid stability. To address this issue, this paper proposes to upgrade the power sharing control through distributed consensus theory and artificial neural network (ANNs). First, we restructure the power control law based on the distribution generation (DG) frequency and voltage dynamics. An intelligent power control is then realized by integrating ANNs to approximate the dynamics, without a priori knowledge of DG parameters. By using a Lyapunov approach, we show that the tracking error and the ANN weights retain the property of uniformly ultimately bounded. Finally, simulations are conducted to validate the new control effectiveness. The results demonstrate that the proposed adaptive power control can guarantee proportional power sharing between DG units, superior system frequency and voltage stability under perturbations from different load types and load uncertainties.
