To effectively respond to the dynamic advancements in flexible DC power grid systems and fulfill the demands for enhanced speed and reliability in DC transmission line protection. This study introduces a novel approach for identifying faults in DC transmission lines, utilizing cross-correlation dispersion as the underlying principle. The principle of identifying fault types in transmission lines is achieved by performing cross-correlation analysis on the fault data and normal data of each line after detecting the DC grid fault, followed by the calculation of the dispersion of the cross-correlation analysis results. The simulation results demonstrate that the method does not necessitate a convoluted threshold configuration procedure, remains unaffected by the location of faults, and effectively identifies faulty lines.
