In the present work, the production of Ξ (1620)⁻ Ξ ( 1620 ) - in the K⁻ p K - p scattering process is investigated by using an effective Lagrangian approach, where Ξ (1620)⁻ Ξ ( 1620 ) - is considered as a K⁻ Λ K - Λ molecular state. Our estimations indicate that the cross sections for K⁻p→ K⁺ Ξ (1620)⁻ K - p → K + Ξ ( 1620 ) - are (1.48 + 1.12-0.69) \, b ( 1 . 48 - 0.69 + 1.12 ) μ b at PK=2.8 \ GeV P K = 2.8 GeV , where the uncertainties are resulted from the variation of the model parameter. As for the K⁻p→ π ⁰ Ξ ⁻ K⁺ K - p → π 0 Ξ - K + process, the cross sections are estimated to be (0.61 +0.47-0.29)\, b ( 0 . 61 - 0.29 + 0.47 ) μ b at PK =2.87 \ GeV P K = 2.87 GeV , which is consistent with the experimental measurements.
