A modified state-of-charge (SoC) based power management technique for a DC nanogrid is presented in this paper. A DC nanogrid consists of a rooftop Photovoltaic source, battery systems, and various DC loads connected to it. Although the majority of current methods depend on communication links to achieve the intended results, this power management technique uses the DC bus signaling method, in which the DC bus voltage serves as an information carrier. The life of the battery is adversely affected if it is discharged below its minimum SoC level or if it charges more than the maximum SoC level. So, a Power flow algorithm based on the SoC of the battery is developed and also level of charging and discharging currents is also considered to avoid overcharging and over-discharging of batteries. To analyze the effectiveness the same is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink
