Quasi-birth-and-death processes (QBDs) form a class of Markovian models with many applications in which the level-variable X(t) records the number of individuals in some system and a phase-variable φ(t) records some additional information about the system. We study the sensitivity of various performance measures of QBDs with respect to the perturbation of a generator matrix. Thereby, we extend the sensitivity analysis of level-dependent QBDs in Gomez-Corral and Lopez-Garcia[Citation4] and develop results with a focus on applications in modelling healthcare systems.
