Proposed circularly polarized hybrid ring CDRA achieves triple band characteristics for WiMAX and 5G, indicating broad application potential.
A compact and multiband circularly polarized hybrid ring CDRA for WiMAX, 5G and satellite applications is proposed in this paper. The Ring CDRA of a proposed radiator is fed by a T-shaped microstrip feed line using a tilted T-shaped slot. The proposed multiband antenna generates two orthogonal hybrid modes HEM11δX and HEM11δY with triple band characteristics. The proposed ring CDRA is resonating from 2.90GHz to 4.23GHz, 4.72GHz to 4.93GHz, and 6.31GHz to 9.32GHz with impedance bandwidths of 1330MHz (37.3%), 210MHz (4.3%), and 3010MHz (38.51%), respectively. Two orthogonal modes is generated with multiband circular polarization characteristics from 3.92GHz to 4.08GHz, 4.88GHz to 4.95GHz and 7.37GHz to 7.95GHz with 3-dB axial ratio bandwidths of 160MHz (4%), 70MHz (1.4%), and 580MHz (7.5%) respectively. The simulated peak gain of the suggested CDRA is obtained at 5.57dBi at a frequency of 7.5GHz. The radiation efficiency (simulated) of the suggested radiator is greater than 83% throughout the operating frequency spectrum.
