The Relationship Between Attachment Styles and Marital Satisfaction: The Mediating Role of Storytelling Enjoyment and Narrative Mindset

This study aims to investigate the relationship between attachment styles and marital satisfaction (MS) through their storytelling enjoyment (SE) and narrative mindset (NM). This was a correlational study of structural equations modeling (SEM) type. 294 married persons (145 men and 149 women) were selected using convenience sampling. The results indicated that the proposed model has a good fit. Secure attachment style had a significant positive relationship with MS through SE and NM, and ambivalent attachment style showed the same relationship negatively. Examination of the gender factor showed that the model had a good fit for women but not for men.
