NADPH Regeneration Platforms In article number 2314443, Omer Yehezkeli, Oren Bachar, and Matan M. Meirovich demonstrate the development of biotic–abiotic bacteria performing semi-artificial photosynthesis. E. coli cells are engineered to facilitate the size-controlled biosynthesis of photocatalytically active cadmium sulfide quantum dots, guided by an engineered protein scaffold template. This light-harvesting module is utilized for solar-driven intracellular NADPH regeneration, which subsequently activates an enzymatic cascade for continuous chiral amine production.
