In this study, we address the question of whether a chess player's skill is correlated with how he observes the chessboard. To answer this question, the eye movements of both players were recorded in a number of chess games using eye-tracking glasses and the resulting images were classified by a neural network on the basis of expertise. The skill and experience of the players varied from game to game.
