Pancreatic injury following blunt abdominal trauma is rare (<2%) in the pediatric population and is often catastrophic and difficult to diagnose. For the appropriate management of pancreatic injury proper assessment and diagnosis are essential. We report a case of a 12-year-old boy who had Grade III pancreatic injury following blunt abdominal trauma after a fall from a tree. The child came 2 days after the incident and had a speedy recovery on emergency surgical intervention in the form of spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with a satisfactory outcome.
