With the emergence and growing popularity of isometric illustrations, styles that can convey information simply and are highly usable are increasingly gaining attention. In this study, the types of tourist guide maps were reorganized into 2D type, isometric illustrations type, and 3D type based on previous research. Through a case study, the current status and issues of Korean tourist guide map design were identified using frequency analysis by type, proposing that isometric illustrations can address these problems. The empirical study measured the recipients' cognitive responses (comprehension, attention). The results show that the cognitive response (understanding and attention) of isometric illustration type tourist guide map is better than that of 2D type and 3D type.
