This study aims to classify posthuman characteristics in SF films, exploring how these are visually expressed. The findings are then applied to 3D fashion design methodologies. Additionally, this study proposes a video content production pipeline using real-time game engines. This pipeline aims to represent virtual spaces and objects effectively and enhance the creation of realistic virtual 3D fashion designs with posthuman influences. The contents and methods of this study are as follows. It identified characteristics of posthumans through a literature review and analyzed the expression methods of posthuman bodies that appeared in science fiction films based on the derived postman characteristics. The result of the study is as follows. First, through prior research and literature review of posthumans, based on the derived characteristics of posthumans, this study categorized the expression characteristics of posthuman bodies that appeared in 21st-century science fiction films as the reconstruction of bodies, digitally augmented bodies that are virtually extended, body enhancement through mechanical implantation, and hybrid bodies through biotechnology. Second, based on the expression characteristics of posthumans shown in science fiction films, this study set up its expression method of SF 3D fashion design as reconstruction, expansion, transplantation, and splicing. Third, based on the design formative characteristics and design methods derived from the combination of 3D fashion design expression methods and design combination methods according to the expression characteristics of posthumans in SF films, this study proposed 4 works of 3D fashion design with SF concepts and presented realistic virtual 3D fashion content works in the form of fashion show videos to expand the expression into virtual space. This study significantly expands the potential of SF 3D fashion design. By mirroring posthuman characteristics often limited to theoretical concepts, it presents these concepts as tangible virtual 3D designs using a real-time game engine. This study offers a new, creative expression method for future fashion design.
