This paper provides a fuzzy droop control scheme that takes the frequency influence factor into account in order to maximize the kinetic energy of the wind turbine rotor and raise the wind turbine frequency support capacity. Firstly, analyze the influencing factors of frequency regulation capability of doubly-fed wind turbines. Secondly, the additional fuzzy control loop gets the adaptive droop gain. The value of the droop parameter varies according to the system frequency deviation and the rate of change of frequency to achieve the full release of rotor kinetic energy. Finally, establish a regional power grid model and the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy droop control strategy is verified by simulating the sudden increase of system load at different wind speeds. The proposed fuzzy droop control strategy is helpful in improving the frequency nadir according to the simulation results.
