Energy Storage Systems (ESS) are widely used in today's power systems, and data center power supply also needs to be supported by ESS. When multiple ESSs are running in series and parallel, the inconsistent SOC caused by production and use stages will lead to overcharge and overdischarge phenomenon during charging and discharging, resulting in changes in battery aging and decay rate. In this paper, an active SOC balance control method based on adaptive hierarchical inverse ratio coefficient method is proposed. In this scheme, after the difference of feedback SOC information is captured by inverse ratio coefficient processing, multi-stage hierarchical control is carried out to achieve adaptive active SOC balance. No matter in charging mode or discharging mode, the control structure ensures the consistent balance of SOC. Finally, the SOC balance simulation results of series ESS systems are provided for verification.
