Abstract Research demonstrates the efficacy of utilizing an 8-bit CMOS 45nm SAR-ADC for acquiring biomedical signals efficiently. The study proposes incorporating a DAC to enhance energy efficiency at the nanowatt level, facilitating zero energy consumption comparisons and significantly improving energy utilization. Notably, optimizing the comparator by adjusting transistor sizes obviates the need for specific offset-canceling methods. Leveraging the 45nm CMOS technological node, the SAR-ADC architecture achieves impressive performance, boasting an SFDR of 64.12 dB while consuming only 1.89uW of power. Operating at a sampling frequency of 1.1MHz and a voltage supply of 1V, these results underscore the effectiveness of the implemented design.
