This paper reports a new north finding inertial unit (NFIMU) with electromagnetic MEMS gyroscope and mode reversal technique. The bias instability is around 0.02deg/h at 5000s averaging time and far below 0.1deg/h even at 40,000s in the Allan Variance measurement. The bias drift over temperature also shows outstanding stability with quintic temperature compensation and it is within +/-0.5deg/h in the temperature range from -15 to 60degC. The azimuth measurement accuracy of this NFIMU successfully achieves the target specification of 1degree(rms).
