This paper describes the relevance of the development and implementation of a virtual simulator for operational switching in a closed distribution device. Special attention is paid to the development of a 3D model, since a realistic model of the object will allow students to get as close as possible to a real energy facility. The need to immerse students in different environments will significantly increase their involvement in the learning process and allow them to work out actions in non-standard situations. An important point is the possibility of demounting any element of the CRU cell. Users have the opportunity to have an accurate perception of various objects in a virtual environment, which is useful for improving the actual level of work of trainees, improving the quality of training and efficiency, and reducing training costs. Algorithms are given that describe the procedure of actions in the electrical installation and the rules for using this VR simulator. The introduction of the simulator in the preparation of specialists will have a positive impact on the level of training of future specialists and their adaptation to the conditions of existing production facilities.
