Medical biology is characterized as an educational discipline studied by students in institutions of higher education and focuses on the manifestations of human life, on determining the place and role of human being in the biosphere, on the peculiarities of the relationship between human being and the surrounding natural environment. Methodical methods are illustrated to ensure effective assimilation by students of the educational material that characterizes poisonous representatives of the biota, their potential impact on human life, the importance of such organisms for medicine. The necessary components of educational and methodological support in medical biology for the implementation of the educational process in the part of representatives of the plant world that are dangerous for humans with poisonous properties are analyzed, and approaches to activating the educational and cognitive activities of students are outlined. The use of test tasks in the organization of the educational process, aimed at strengthening the student's motivation for thorough mastery of knowledge, as well as useful for the student's self-analysis of the level of educational achievements, is highlighted. The issue of the possibility of using the ideas of museum pedagogy in the organization of the educational process in medical biology, in particular for the visualization of objects to be studied by students, is discussed. The role of the student scientific circle (the thematic area of which corresponds to the problematic aspects of the relationship between humans and poisonous representatives of the plant world) in expanding and deepening knowledge on current issues of medical biology among students of higher medical education and developing research competence in them is characterized. At the same time, as one of the factors of activating cognitive interest in students, the teacher suggested focusing their attention, for example, on those local objects of the plant world, which are known for their specific impact on human life.
