Candidiasis of the skin and/or mucous membranes is an important interdisciplinary problem. The etiological factor is conditionally pathogenic representatives of the microbiocenosis of human skin. Their activation under the influence of many exo- and endogenous factors, among which medications play a significant role, leads to clinical manifestations on the skin. The purpose of the study is to examine the features of the course of superficial candidiasis in clinical outpatient practice and to analyze the shortcomings in the choice of diagnostic methods and treatment tactics. The article is based on the examination and treatment of 113 patients with superficial candidiasis and a retrospective analysis of 251 outpatient records of patients with atopic dermatitis. The diagnosis of candidiasis of the skin and/or mucous membranes was confirmed clinically and laboratory. The diagnostic errors are systematized and combined into 7 groups. The illustrations of the clinical cases are presented.
