The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for remote monitoring of pastures is increasingly widespread in modern agriculture. The majority of studies focus on the utilization of multispectral and hyperspectral images. For small farms, it is more cost-effective to employ small UAV equipped with only an RGB camera. This article proposes a new index for determining sectors with good grass quality in wild pastures based solely on RGB images. A criterion for separating areas with good grass quality is formulated. The visual analysis of the research results demonstrates the validity of the proposed index and the rationale for conducting further studies.
