Spectral division method (SDM) is a sound field synthesis technique based on the spatial Fourier representation of sound fields. This technique is formulated in the cylindrical coordinate system and the driving function for a linear loudspeaker array is derived. In actual implementation, the reproduced sound field is limited by the array's finite length. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a sound field synthesis method using a linear loudspeaker array and multiple distributed spherical loudspeaker arrays. The results of numerical simulation confirm that the proposed method can complement sound waves in the direction that cannot be synthesized by the linear loudspeaker array alone with the sound waves radiated from spherical loudspeaker arrays.
