This article explores the current development status of tennis in China and its prospects in Guizhou universities. As a "noble sport", tennis has a prominent position and broad foundation in the Chinese sports world. In recent years, Chinese tennis has made remarkable achievements in international competitions and is developing rapidly on university campuses. However, existing teaching resources and management models cannot meet current needs, which has affected the development of tennis in colleges and universities. Especially in Guizhou, due to economic lag, the teaching staff and equipment level of colleges and universities are relatively backward. Therefore, introducing tennis into campuses has become an inevitable trend, and improving teaching standards has become a top priority. This article proposes that adopting PTR teaching method may be an effective method to increase students' interest and satisfaction in tennis lessons. Researchers will use interviews, questionnaires, quantitative research and other methods to explore issues and propose targeted strategies to promote the development of tennis in Guizhou colleges and universities.
