Aiming at the problems that the life test of planetary reducer takes a long time and lacks a reliable test plan, an accelerated life test method based on transient dynamics is proposed, which can obtain the life-stress relationships by simulation in the design stage and guide the formulation of the accelerated test plan. Firstly, the finite element model of the planetary reducer was established, the fatigue stress spectrum of the planetary reducer under four working conditions were obtained, combined with nCode, the fatigue life of planetary reducer at the design stress was analyzed. The strength check of each gear was carried out to preliminarily choose the highest allowed test stress. Under the premise of not changing the failure mechanism, the life-stress model between the load and the mean life of the planetary reducer was established. The R-square of the linear regression model was 0.9287, which demonstrated the validity of the model and data. The results show that the acceleration factor at the highest stress level is 72.14.
