A checklist with distribution patterns and literature details of the 176 Scaritinae species under 23 genera reported from the Indian mainland are provided. Out of these species, 72 species are endemic to India and 104 species have a wider range of distribution. Among the 72 endemic Indian species, 59 species are from the Indian ORR region; eight species are from the Indian PAR region, three species in both the Indian ORR and PAR regions, and the localities of two species are unknown. Among the 72 Indian endemic species, eight species are endemic to the Himalayan Hotspots of Biodiversity, five species are endemic to the Indo-Burma Hotspot of Biodiversity and seven species are endemic to the Western Ghats Hotspot of Biodiversity.
