This study presents a comprehensive investigation of the borehole vector gravity (BVG) technique to monitor injected water fronts advancement with time. The study focuses on the sensitivity of BVG measurements in vertical and horizontal wells, aiming to enhance our understanding of dynamics changes in the reservoir due to water injection and oil production activities. The workflow integrates reservoir simulation model, time-lapse density modeling, and gravity forward modeling to simulate and analyze the changes in density over time. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of borehole vector gravity (BVG) measurements in monitoring reservoir processes and highlight the increased resolution and potential of horizontal wells in detecting and characterizing reservoir dynamics. The study utilizes a synthetic model to showcase the spatial and temporal variations in density changes through maps and cross-sectional views. The findings contribute to the advancement of BVG techniques for waterflood monitoring and provide valuable insights for reservoir characterization and production optimization.
