We discuss the discovery potential of the Dark-photons & Axion-Like particles Interferometer in this paper. The apparatus, currently in a design and prototyping phase, will probe axion dark matter from the Teide Observatory, an environment protected from terrestrial microwave sources, reaching Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitsky-like axion sensitivity in the range <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mrow><a:mn>25</a:mn><a:mi>–</a:mi><a:mn>250</a:mn><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mi mathvariant="normal">μ</a:mi><a:mi>eV</a:mi></a:mrow></a:math> of mass. The experimental approach shows a potential to probe dark sector photons of kinetic mixing strength in excess of several <d:math xmlns:d="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><d:msup><d:mn>10</d:mn><d:mrow><d:mo>−</d:mo><d:mn>16</d:mn></d:mrow></d:msup></d:math> and to establish new constraints to a stochastic gravitational wave background in its band. We identify different branches, including cosmology, stellar, and particle physics, where this next-generation halo-telescope may play a role in coming years.
