A novel backstepping global integral terminal sliding mode controller (BGITSMC) has been proposed in this paper for three - phase (3-φ) grid - integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) systems by taking external disturbances (EDs) into consideration. The proposed controller ensures the dynamic stability of 3-φ grid - integrated PV systems by controlling the voltage source converter (VSC). The control Lyapunov function (CLF) has been used to demonstrate the dynamic stability of the system with the suggested control law. The robustness of the proposed controller has been examined through numerical simulations under various operating situations. Finally, by comparing the effectiveness of the suggested BGITSMC with the existing sliding mode control (SMC) scheme revealed how much preferable it is at delivering active power into the grid and lowering total harmonic distortion (THD) in the grid current.
