This paper analyzes the performance of a control strategy for a hybrid electrical microgrid during the mode transition based on a master-slave configuration. The converters are controlled as current sources in grid-connected mode, and the master converter switches its control to a voltage source in islanded mode. The results obtained from simulations in MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate a smooth transition between the modes of operation, complying with international power quality standards. The effectiveness of the local fault detection technique is confirmed, ensuring a fast response time in detecting changes in the state of the power grid. Additionally, the behavior of the microgrid's voltage Vrms during the master converter control changes is analyzed, giving results within the limits established by Standard lEC 62040–3.
