Fractals are ubiquitous in nature. When two-dimensional crystals such as graphene or h-BN are multiply stacked and then twisted by a specific angle, the resulting super-moir\'e pattern exhibits electronic fractality. The authors call these novel structures ``moir\'e fractals''. They derive a formula that relates their fractal dimension to the number of electronic bands in a given energy window. Such a number of bands fundamentally constrains charge and heat transport, thus providing a powerful tool for engineering designer quantum materials.
