One of the most important social problems of our time is the deterioration of the population's health. In recent years, the number of patients with functional disorders of the cardiovascular, respiratory systems, musculoskeletal system, organs of vision, abnormalities in the neuropsychological sphere, and other diseases has been increasing. In solving this problem, one of the leading roles belongs to physical culture, and the dependence of a person's health level on his motor activity is clearly observed. Optimal motor activity is a powerful health factor that increases the functional capabilities of the body's physiological systems. The coherence of all body systems was formed in the process of evolution against the background of active motor activity, and therefore only those populations survived, in which the genetic resistance to physical exertion turned out to be higher. That is why a person adapts much better to heavy physical exertion than to conditions of limited mobility. A person has the ability to fully develop and maintain vital activity at the proper level only in the presence of sufficient systematic muscle load. Physical activity is a determining factor and a necessary condition for health preservation. The article summarizes the main factors of the influence of motor activity on health preservation, the mechanism of increasing the vitality of the body by means of motor activity is revealed. The characteristics of the conditions necessary for the optimization of root activity are given. An analysis of the data of modern scientific literature on the problem of the influence of motor activity on health and its strengthening was carried out. It was found that a sufficiently large number of people have a chronic lack of motor activity. The result of this is a low level of motivation for a healthy lifestyle. The importance of increasing motivation for health-preserving behavior has been established, because it has been proven that motor activity is an integral component of health-preserving as a whole. The article contains an analysis and generalization of the concept of "motor activity". The methodology of the Framingham study of motor activity was considered, according to which the distribution of motor activity at the level was determined. The classification of motor activity depending on the purpose is proposed for consideration and the conclusions are given.
