The Problem of Students' Physical Education in the Pedagogical Heritage of V. Sukhomlynsky

Turning to the history of physical culture education of students makes it possible to take into account the achievements, miscalculations, prospects of this important socio-pedagogical process in the context of historical retrospect. The outstanding Ukrainian teacher Vasyl Oleksandrovych Sukhomlynskyi deeply studied the issue of physical education of students. The article examines the problem of education of physical culture of students in the pedagogical heritage of V. Sukhomlynskyi. It was established that the subject of the outstanding teacher's analysis was the concept of "physical culture", the meaning of physical education and its place in the structure of comprehensive personality education, child health, measures for physical education, self-education of students in the field of physical culture and sports, the role of parents and teachers in physical education raising children, interdependence of physical and other areas of education, etc. Sukhomlynsky believed that the issue of physical education should be considered in the context of general education in society. V. Sukhomlynskyi saw a discrepancy in society between general education and general education, he stated that education lags behind education. The outstanding teacher considered this problem one of the most difficult in pedagogy. V. Sukhomlynsky considered physical culture as a constituent element of the all-round harmonious development of the individual. To the concept of "student's physical culture" he included the following content: the student's conscious attitude to his body, the ability to protect health, strengthen it with the correct regime of work, rest, nutrition, gymnastics, sports, hardening of physical and nervous forces, prevention of diseases and preservation life as the highest value and ensuring the harmony of physical development and spiritual life, multifaceted human activity. Sukhomlynskyi's advice on the physical education of students was addressed to children, teachers, and parents. They were discussed at pedrades, psychological seminars, with class teachers, at the parent's school. It was a systematic approach of an outstanding teacher to the introduction of already known pedagogical views on physical education and his own ideas, practical research.
