The aim of our research is to devise an economic approach to minimize synthetic overhead during the assembly of compounds featuring diazirine functionality. The primary objectives are to reduce excess ammonia usage in diaziridine formation and utilize the IKA Electrosyn 2.0 for diaziridine oxidation. Diazirine functionality holds significant importance in numerous applications, particularly as a photoaffinity label. This approach is crucial in drug discovery and biomedical research, enabling researchers to explore, comprehend, manipulate, and regulate intricate biological systems. Initial data indicates limitations in scope and conversion levels ranging from low to moderate. Our current emphasis is on a cross-coupling reaction, where the scope is determined solely by the pairing of N-methyliminodiacetic acid boronate ester (BMIDA) and substrate. Achieving success in either of these specific goals will substantially decrease the current synthetic overhead.
