Drilling task scheduling is an important part of scheduling and control in the printed circuit board production chain. Factors such as job sequence dependent setup time, differences in machine processing capabilities, and manpower shortages seriously constrain the production effieciency of drilling tasks. Therefore, a drilling task scheduling model is developed based on job sequence dependent setup time and number of workers constraints, and an improved genetic algorithm is proposed to optimize the completion time. The algorithm combines the global optimization ability of the genetic algorithm and the local search ability of the simulated annealing algorithm, and also introduces an elite replacement strategy to improve the quality of the population. The performance and practicality of the improved algorithm are verified through production cases, and the completion time is shortened by 3h34min and the efficiency is improved by 18.58% compared with the traditional scheduling method, which can effectively solve the three main problems of machine selection, job sequencing and worker allocation in the drilling workshop.
